Happy BDay Laura - delayed

Had a real busy week at work, but with our new found ability to stay connected, I want to say hello and let all of the family know that no matter how far away we might be we do think of you and miss you. Even with the distance we have not lost touch.

Here are some memories from my path crossing with Laura's, and a special birthday wish that I now return to sender (but I kept the original). Not sure which girl in the two pictures wrote the card, but my little sister sent frequent updates and these are less than a year apart.

Which one of these little girls sent me this message 25 years ago? Somebody's mom was proud. 7th Grade or 11 and a half years. Either way, the work was appreciated (then and now). Beware ... the rest of the family ... I have more. Just waiting to see what you've got.

Kind of funny that the only time our families surfed together was in Cincinnati. If you come out west, we actually have beaches and an ocean.

I have some really cool multi-family shots from this trip, but they are currently lost in the archives. When I come across them I will upload. If you have interesting photos, you should upload too.

  3. Glad to see you're watching. Do you remember writing the birthday card? Your mom must have had a project day. I have another one from Joe on the same day. Must have been too hot to play on that August day in 1992.

  4. August of 1992. Hmmmm....I may have written a card, although in August of '92 I was getting ready for my freshman year of high school :) Time flies...

  5. So, I'm confused. The title of my posting is Happy Birthday Laura, the pictures are of Laura at 10 years old, the hand made card is dated (Aug 92),by me at the time for future (now) reference. Why is Joyce and Bryan commenting about freshman high school days? :)

  6. Well, I guess I presumed you were replying back to my comment thanking you for posting them when you said "Glad to see you're watching" and asked if I remembered that day. But, perhaps you were commenting back to Steve...although I don't know that he was involved with an August day project either :)

  7. Pat, thank you for the pictures and comments about my birthday. I don't quite remember writing the card now but I'm sure I was proud to write it back then. Sorry this is late but my desktop does not like me, so I'm not on it often. Love you all!!
