  1. Funny!!!

Okay big brother, my daughter has a question as to Pat and Matt's names. Can you explain to Kasey the Cervantes and the DeLeon?

  2. Actually, it's a twist on traditional Spanish convention. The "normal" plan is to preserve the wife's mother's maiden name. Dalila's mother's name before marriage was Carmen Cervantes; and then for Matthew we got even more creative. Sincy there were no more Henrys; remember they had 2 daughters (Marilyn and Ruthy), Matthew got the double whammy of Henry DeLeon. My mom's parents and Dalila's dad.

Watch an old Zorro black and white show sometime and here the very long combination of all the names in the family tree. This was particularly true in the aristocracy. This was all about preserving the memory of the family heritage.

Just like right now. Somebody asked the question and a little bit of family history comes out. Did you guys figure out the trivia question that I posted Feb 5 on HartInsights? I have more pictures like these from other relatives out here in California. They will be posted.
